چکیده
In the present research, charging carbon composite briquettes (CCB) in a blast furnace (BF) was investigated. The CCB used contained 29.70 wt.% Fe3O4, 39.70 wt.%, FeO, 1.57 iron, 8.73 gangue, and 20.30 carbon. Its reaction kinetics BF examined by nonisothermal tests modeled. Thereafter, influence of replacing 10% ore with on performance studied numerical simulations. Results showed that behavior could be modeled using previously proposed model under ags = 1900 m2·m−3. Numerical simulations production 6250 t hot metal per day (tHM/day) efficiently improved operation for coke saving. operation, reached full iron-oxide reduction above cohesive zone (CZ) conversion 85%. By CCB, thermal state upper part significantly changed while it not influenced lower part; retarded before temperature 1073 K prompted after local gas utilization tends to increase CZ. CZ, top decreased 8 K, increased 1.3%, productivity 17 tHM/day, rate 52.2 kg/tHM, 101 kg/tHM. Considering energy consumption sintering coking, have significant energy-saving CO2-emission-reducing effect iron making.

Experimental and Numerical Investigations into Polymeric Coatings for Blast Protection
Experimental and numerical investigations were conducted to assess the effectiveness of polymeric coatings to enhance the blast protection of steel structures. During the experiments test plates were allowed to deform under close-in blast loading and the final deformations of coated and uncoated plates were compared. The coatings were found to reduce the deformation of the plates when applied t...
متن کاملExperimental investigations on photoelectric and triboelectric charging of dust
Experiments are performed pertaining to the charging of single dust particles in space due to three effects: (1) photoemission, (2) the collection of electrons from a photoemissive surface, and (3) triboelectric charging. The particles tested are 90–106 mm in diameter and include JSC-1 (lunar regolith simulant) and JSC-Mars-1 (Martian regolith simulant). Isolated conducting grains (Zn, Cu, and ...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Investigations on the Effect of Rectangular Openings’ Aspect Ratio on Outflow Discharge
Up to now, a few formulas have been suggested by scholars for the amount of discharge from openings, however, the effect of opening's geometry on the amount of discharge has not addressed thoroughly. In this study, to assess the effect of rectangular openings’ aspect ratio on the discharge amount, experimental and numerical investigations have been conducted on the discharge amount from rectang...
متن کاملNumerical Study of Furnace Temperature and Inlet Hydrocarbon Concentration Effect on Carbon Nanotube Growth Rate
Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) is one of the most important methods for producing Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs). In this research, a numerical model, based on finite volume method, is investigated. The applied method solves the conservation of mass, momentum, energy and species transport equations with aid of ideal gas law. Using this model, the growth rate and thickness uniformity of produced CNTs,...
متن کاملMultivariate process monitoring of an experimental blast furnace
Process monitoring by use of multivariate projection methods has received increasing attention as it can reduce the monitoring problem for richly instrumented industrial processes with many correlated variables. This article discusses the monitoring and control of a continuously operating experimental blast furnace (EBF). A case study outlines the need for monitoring and control of the EBF and ...
